RB Focused On Season

RB Focused On Season

The Bobcat Coaching Staff has been in frequent contact with this athlete, but with so much on his plate, he'll be waiting to the end of the season for a decision.

After being a weapon on offense and defense, and a junior season that would see him score 26 touchdowns, Jeffery Wilson (Elkhart HS) has picked up four offers with more programs showing interest.

Texas State is one of those after his commitment and the Bobcat Staff is doing a great job of staying in touch.

"I stay in touch with (TXST) almost everyday," Wilson said. "Right now, Louisiana-Monroe, Texas State and North Texas are really kind of neck and neck. I just haven't had much time to focus on recruiting."

New Mexico State has also offered. Iowa State, Tulsa, Stephan F. Austina and UTSA have all been in contact.

On the field, Wilson and his teammates are off to a 2-0 start, using a 16-point 4th quarter to beat Frankston HS. That sets up an early season showdown with Centerville on Friday, who is also undefeated.

For the Elks, Wilson starts at both RB and FS, but the 'Cats are recruiting him strictly as playmaker on offense. All four schools that have offered, have done so as a RB.

Wilson has a good mix of size, 6'1" 190lbs and speed. During the summer he was running in between a 4.4 and 4.5.

He's not in a rush to make a choice and is looking towards the end of football season to take some visits and then make a decision. In the end, he's just looking for the best fit at the next level.

"Every guy thinks they can play as a freshman, it's a bit of accomplishment to have, but I really don't know," Wilson said. "I want to look for a college that makes me feel a part of the family. It doesn't matter if I go far or stay close to home." p>Talk about Wilson's recruitment in the 'Cats Den Insider Forum
