Keys To The Game: Georgia State

Saturday, a win less Georgia State will travel to San Marcos. What will the Bobcats need to take care of business at home? BI likes to think its the 'Cats secondary and the Lowe-led offense.

Drew's Two Keys

1. Stop the Pass
The Panthers' one offensive threat is through the air. QB Ronnie Bell is averaging 215 yards a game. With their running back averaging less than 50 yards a game, it's fair to say the passing game is their only real offensive threat. Let Orakpo and Mayo worry about getting their tackles at the line, but Xavier Daniels and Craig Mager need to keep their hands ready for defended passes. The Georgia State offense throws the ball twice for every run, and stopping it will leave the Panthers with no other dependable options.

Prediction: 2 Picks, 5 Passed Defended

2. Run Lowe Run
So what if QB play isn't consistent? Georgia State gives up nearly 220 rushing yards a game. This should have Rob Lowe and the RB corps licking their chops. Lowe looking for a big season himself should take full advantage of this match-up. The front seven for the Panthers has allowed 14 rushing touchdowns in 6 games. Even if it's not Lowe doing the scoring, there will be rushing TD's on Texas State's end.

Prediction:
250 Rushing Yards and 3 TD's for Lowe and Company.

Game Prediction:
Texas State is favored by 2 possessions already. We think that's fair enough. Final Score : 28-14
