OL Target Recaps Visit

The 'Cats still have 4-5 legit offers out to secure 1-2 more O-linemen for this class. One on the interior and one on the outside. This target projects at the interior and he saw TXST's dramatic win over USA from the stands.

Coach Franchione and his staff have been on a recruiting tear and it continued with more great news of securing a QB commit after their win on Saturday evening. Another target who was on hand is Colton Freemann a 6'4" 290lb OL from San Angelo Central HS. He's had an offer for a few weeks now and enjoyed what he saw in San Marcos.

"It was an unofficial visit. We looked at the weight room and checked out the facilities. It went really good, the atmosphere was great," said Freeman.

You can probably attribute location as a big reason for Colton flying somewhat under the radar. San Angelo isn't the easiest travel destination, but that hasn't stopped the Bobcat staff at all.

"They've been recruiting me since the end of last season. They offered me about mid season this year."

Texas State, Houston and Abilene Christian are Freeman's three offers so far. Texas Tech is showing interest as well and he took an unofficial up to Lubbock last weekend. There hasn't been any word on whether the Red Raiders are offering.

Along with the environment at Bobcat Stadium, Colton has formed a good relationship with the coaching staff and likes how Fran's staff is pure energy and excitement on and off the field.

Freeman still remains uncommitted, although he has given thought to a decision, it'll probably come in January or a few weeks out from National Signing Day.

The 'Cats haven't said where exactly they would like him along the line, although he does project to the interior. He currently plays center for his high school team and that's where he feels most comfortable.

"Right now I feel best at center, but I can definitely move across the line."
