Done At LB?

Done At LB?

With 3 linebackers committed or signed already (Dailey, Johnson, Douglass) for the 2014 class, it's likely the staff could be finished at the position, but always expect change in the twisted world of recruiting. This SA linebacker prospect has had heavy contact recently.

Solomon Hunter is a 6'2" 220lb linebacker with 4.58 speed. Because of his wheels, Hunter has played RB, but this past season for SA Roosevelt he primarily focused on the defensive side for the Rough Riders.

As a LB he was selected 1st Team All District (Unanimous) after logging 85 tackles, 1 INT and 4 fumble recoveries. Early on he received recruiting attention from Missouri, Arizona, UTSA, and Wake Forest to name a few. Most recently, Texas State, Montana State, Northern Iowa, and Abilene Christian have all picked up interest with NSD just over a month away.

Southern Nazarene (OK) is his only offer at the moment. That could possibly change as the Bobcats have been in heavy contact going back to last week and there has been talk about an offer.

"Just last week they (Texas State) talked to my head coach and said that they were going to offer. I haven't heard back from them, but their staff said they were going to offer," said Hunter.

Of the current schools showing interest, the Bobcats and ACU are standing out. If an offer does in fact come his way, a decision in favor of the 'Cats is a possibility.

"My brother goes to Texas State, he's going out for the football team in January as a walk-on, Victor Hunter. I've been down there before, I like the campus and having family there is a big plus."

Since his last contact with the staff, Texas State has picked up 2 LB commits in Juco transfer Darnell Dailey (Signed LOI) and high schooler Dylan Douglas. If the 'Cats do have the space, expect Hunter to be right there at the top of the board.
