D-End Gets Offered

D-End Gets Offered

The coaching staff is always looking to add depth and talent to the trenches. This d-end will look to make an impact at whatever program he chooses.

R.D. Wegmann is a 6'3 255-pound defensive end out of Rider High School. He's a relentless big man always in pursuit of the ball. Wegmann's play impressed Coach Bedell and the Texas State staff enough to grant him an offer this past Friday.

"I'm a downhill headhunter who is quick off the ball, and great at reading the play," said Wegmann on his style.

Currently Wegmann holds four offers from North Texas, Colorado State, Air Force, and now Texas State. R.D. also has seen interest from TCU, Oklahoma, USC, and Missouri. With the Bobcats being one of his first offers, a visit is in the works to San Marcos.

"I plan to visit Texas State sometime in July. I will be just looking to see how the coaches handle the players, see how nice the facilities are, and I want to take a look at the Business school while I'm there. I hear they have a really good one. Coach Bedell and I had a great talk yesterday on the phone.

R.D. will plan to make his decision sometime after this summer, hopefully before the start of his senior season. He plans not to commit until he feels comfortable. The Bobcats will look to impress with their newly renovated locker rooms, football facilities, and energetic staff when R.D visits in July.
