TE Seeing Interest

This TE played in a major role for a State Championship winning team his Junior year. Texas State and others are on him early, even without seeing him receive the ball very much last season.

Kobe Idumwonyi is a 6'3 222-pound TE out of Cedar Hill HS with top notch blocking ability for his position. Idumwonyi would be an ideal fit for the Bobcat's run based offense as they have made him a target.

"Last season I spent more time blocking than receiving, because of my ACL tear the season before. My coaches didn't want me re-injuring myself," said Idumwonyi. "I have played receiver in the past and my receiving skills are just as good as my blocking."

Kobe currently holds three offers, Louisiana-Monroe, Northern Colorado, and Texas State. A visit to San Marcos is currently in the works, both parties want him to make it down to Texas State.

"I am looking for a program that I will be able to see myself for the next four years, with a good fan base, and that is hungry to improve," said Idumwonyi. "My mom and I have done a lot of research on Texas State, but I really want to visit to see what all they have available."

Idumwonyi says that out of his three offers Texas State is definitely showing the most interest and Coach Bedell keeps in good contact with him, mostly through Twitter about every other week. He's another recruit who will wait until at least midway through his senior season to allow his receiving skills a chance to get some notice, however the Bobcats have a head start on the rest of the competition and will look to play that to their advantage.
